Chemin Faisant

The Festival CHEMIN FAISANT is an invitation to walk, to think, to philosophize, to take the time to breathe and to exchange while walking together on the most beautiful paths of the valley of Chamonix. The festival is totally free.

In previous editions, we were accompanied by philosophers (Vincent Cespedes, Patrick Viveret, Edgar Morin ...), storytellers (Malek Boucherki), musicians (Julie Gros, Jeanne-Marie Conquer), Associations (Les Colibris, Nicolas Hulot Foundation, Convivialists, Institutes of Desirable Futures, Dialogues in Humanity, National Council of Resistance ...), citizens who experiment new ways of creating, producing and living their daily lives , Farmers, scientists, holidaymakers, researchers, walkers, curious ...
Throughout the day, we alternate walks (easy, without big difference, from 20 minutes to an hour) and dialogues in places particularly inspiring, in the wilderness. 3 or 4 speakers offer a reflection or a personal point of view on the issue of publishing, followed by a very open dialogue with all the participants, dialogue that continues by walking with joyfully gustative breaks.
The CHEMIN FAISANT Festival is usually held in large open spaces, in the middle of nature, except for the exceptionally organized 2015 edition, on the eve of the COP 21, around a meeting with Edgar Morin, Nicolas Hulot and Patrick Viveret.

Each edition is published in the CHEMIN FAISANT collection, published by Paulsen-Guérin, a book that gathers participants' interventions and exchanges throughout the weekend.

For this edition 2017, the 1st and 2nd of July in Chamonix,
The theme chosen is SHARING (S), reinventing the common good
Globalization, the entry of the Earth into the anthropocene era, climate change ... require us to change our visions of the world, our ways of living, to inhabit the Earth. We must now integrate the sense of collective interest that has disappeared over the past 30 years, for it is the fate of all mankind that is at stake.
It is therefore a moral revolution and thought. The commons are part of this logic, a logic of sharing, a logic of sharing. Today, there is a renewal of the commons, all over the world, in the global reflection as well as in the most concrete economic and social experiments: alpine renaissance, shared gardens, free software ...
But what is common? What are we talking about ? What importance do they have at local and global level? Key questions for mankind and future generations about our essential relationships to air, water, knowledge, information ... and the emergence of new collective forms of creation and governance. This is what the Festival proposes to explore this year.
