Cosmo Jazz FestivalMusic

From Tuesday 24 July 2012 to Sunday 29 July 2012

This entirely free festival is the fruit of the imagination of André Manoukian, with the backing of Chamonix municipal authority.

Near Chamonix, at the top of the Aiguille du Midi, is a ridge known as the Arête des Cosmiques. The 2nd Chamonix Cosmojazz Festival will take place under its protection.
During “cosmic” strolls or rides on a cable car, the public will discover improvisers from distant lands, playing in the most beautiful high-mountain locations.
When it’s time for the Apérojazz (jazz aperitif), the streets will resonate to the jazzy sound of brass bands that are let loose on the town.
In the evening, the musicians and audience can gather together at the Jam de Cham jam sessions in a “club” until the end of the night.
Authentic, intense and rare roots music: the world’s finest music in the most beautiful of all natural showcases.
