Nordic Skiing in Chamonix
Chamonix has two distinct cross country skiing areas and offers an excellent choice of varied and picturesque circuits. There are gentle pistes linking Chamonix with the village of Les Bois or further up the valley the quietude of Argentière with skiing through pine forests. Snow conditions permitting, these 2 areas are linked via the village of Le Lavancher. If you're trying cross country skiing for the first time, begin on the easy trails and beware ! You might get hooked foreever !

The pistes are open from 9am to 5pm.
They are groomed and prepared for both classic and skate skiers.

The ski trails are all one-way and skiers are asked to respect the signposts.
Pedestrians are allowed only on the yellow-marked trails, free access.

Dogs are allowed only on the pedestrian trails and in the multi-activity area.
There is a charge to use the trails which are regularly patrolled. The passes and tickets are on sale at the cross-country ski lodges of Chamonix or at the Chosalet lift cash (Argentière).| Cross-country ski Rates 2009-10 |
