Works to securise the landslide area have been completed. We therefore have the pleasure to announce the reopening of the Montenvers train, as from Thursday, July 1st. The site will be fully open.

On the stage in Chamonix
Chamonix organises a large number of cultural and sports events throughout the year. At the end of January, the world's best downhill skiers meet in Chamonix for the famous Kandahar World Cup. This race is challenged on the "Verte", technically one of the most difficult descents of the circuit. In May, the Earth and Science Festival, brings together renowned scientists from around the World for 4 days of conferences, debate and discussion with a large and enthusiastic public. During the summer months the "Musical Weeks" present a number of quality classical concerts with the participation of international musicians. On the 15th August, the traditional "Mountain Guides Festival" is a moment of sheer magic evoking past and present history of this prestigious "Compagnie". Atmosphere guaranteed with a tremendous sound and light show followed by an open-air concert!Chamonix also offers many permanent cultural activities: cinema (3), alpine and crystal museums, Frison-Roche exhibition hall, library...
