Looking onto the Mer de Glace glacier

Facing due south and looking onto Mont Blanc, the La Flégère site is the departure point for classic grande randonnée major hikes to magnificent mountain lakes !

From Les Praz village, the cable car glides over Chamonix golf course and takes you to the La Flégère site at an altitude of 1,877m. If you want to go higher, a chair lift takes you to the Index, at an altitude of 2,595m.

Hill-walking paths to Lac Blanc, Les Chéserys lakes, etc., where you can observe the medium-altitude wildlife, since the Brévent - Flégère area is in the large Aiguilles Rouges range, a natural conservation area. Dogs are not allowed, even on a leash.

From the Index to Les Praz village, enjoy the thrills of mountain-biking on laid-out way-marked trails, of average to difficult level.

For paragliders, the take-off area is 5 minutes’ walk from the Index gondola lift station.

Where to eat: Take-away food is on sale from the farm building outside the La Flégére cable car station and hotel complex. On the shores of Lac Blanc, the mountain chalet offers Savoie specialities.
