Going to the glacier

The cable car from Argentière brings you to Lognan plateau (altitude 1972m) then the Aiguille des Grands Montets (3295m), from where there is a spectacular panoramic view of Les Drus, Aiguille Verte, the Aiguilles de Chamonix and Argentière glacier.

From Lognan railway station, a footpath brings you to the viewing point for an impressive cascade of ice-pinnacles.

In the summer in Les Grands Montets, you will discover the world of the High Alps in total safety, just a few metres from Europe’s largest glaciers.

At Lognan, you can eat in the snack bar, in the cable car station, and also in Lognan mountain refuge chalet, 30 minutes’ walk away. Light snacks are available at the top.
