Chamonix-Mont-Blanc
The Mont Blanc Tour is a round tour hike of 200 km in medium-altitude mountains in France, Italy and Switzerland. It is suitable for all trained hill-walkers who are used to hiking on varied terrain, carrying a heavy back-pack.
This “GR” [grande randonnée] major hike can be completed in an average of eight to ten days with six hours of walking every day. Everybody makes stops according to their physical abilities, their training, their loads (particularly campers) and the weather.
We strongly recommend inexperienced hill-walkers to join a club or a group led by a mountain leader.
The Office de Haute Montagne welcomes hill-walkers and mountaineers. It will advise you in choosing your routes and in your searches, and in preparing for your adventure.
