The Camerata du Mont-Blanc string octet will present its second concert of the 2018/2019 season at the Saint-Michel Church in Chamonix.
This regular ensemble of musicians based in a radius of 80 kilometres from the Mont Blanc valley performs a repertoire that ranges from baroque to contemporary composers.
Its vocation is to offer all year round to residents and visitors a classical music program combining major composers with much less well-known works.
On the programme are Albinoni's Concerto a cinque Op 9 No. 7 in D Major, UW Wassenaer's Concerto Armonico No. 4, a popular composer of this formation, and two works that will honour two of its members: JS Bach's violin concerto in E Major BWV 1042, under Claire Roff's bow and a nugget rarely played in orchestral version: JB Vanhal's concerto for double bass in D Major, which will be performed by Bernard Perrin in a specially adapted version for the octet.
