Ruins of a castle dating from around 1300 which belonged to Beatrix de
Savoie, Lady of Faucigny. Chapel. Saint Bernard dog kennels. Rock-climbing site.
From Servoz, walk to the village of le Lac, close to the Chapelle Notre-Dame du
Lac (visit). Here a footpath takes you along the left bank of the Arve towards a
rocky wooded promontory. The ruins lay on the summit (871 m). All that remains
is the overgrown tower wall. The path continues in the woods:
• on the left towards Pont Pelissier, cross over the bridge which takes you to the
local road of Servoz and to the rock climbing school and the chalet.
• on the right towards the car park near the Hotel de la Fontaine and from there
it is easy to visit the Saint Bernard kennels. Go back to the village of le Lac and
then Servoz via a path along the railway track.
