Strolling in the alleys of Chamonix cemeteries will give us the opportunity to revive many forgotten citizens. We will go back the past time of the city of Chamonix. In the cemetery of Biollay and the English cemetery we will evoke these mythical characters, illustrious or anonymous, who made the great and the little history of the Chamonix valley. We can remember the heroes of mountaineering such as Edward Whymper, Louis Lachenal or Lionel Terray, and also remember the Simond, Payot, Ravanel and so many other professionals or amateurs who fell during a race in the massif Mont Blanc .. We will discover the tombs of photographers, writers, painters of the valley, major hotel families of Chamonix and we will like to evoke some original personalities of the mountain society. Visiting these two cemeteries will be a particularly rewarding discovery and not free of emotion.
