By the old road, we will go from hamlet to hamlet to evoke the unusual history of this ancestral "valley of the Bear". Marked by its isolation, its very harsh climate, Vallorcine has kept a most original habitat, significantly different from that of the rest of the Chamonix Valley. Old farms, raccards, granaries remain the testimony of the colonization of the valley by a population of Germanic origin. Together, we will discover the rugged rural life of the Vallorcins, their way of punctuating their lives and building their houses according to the needs of their peasant life.
