Located at 2550 meters, the Black Lakes are the highest of the Aiguilles Rouges Lakes.
DescriptionThe Black lakes are both from glacial origin and are regularly cover by ice in spite of high temperatures at the arrival of summer.
At the end of summer, the black lakes give rise to small snowy icebergs, which drift for a time and then melt, these two lakes stop freezing very late.
